Gaëlle Leduc

Postdoctoral researcher in Agricultural Economics

About

I am a postdoctoral researcher in agricultural economics, passionate about sustainable farming and farmers' decision-making. Currently doing my postdoc at ETH Zürich, I focus on understanding how behavioral variables explain adoption behaviour among farmers in regard to pest management practices.  In addition to economic and policy factors, I focus on psychological and social types of factors. For that purpose, I use a mixed-methods approach where I combine qualitative methods (depth of analysis) to quantiative methods (breadth of analysis). I also investigate policy incentives for reducing pesticides use.

I work mainly with survey, panel and choice data. I have specific experience with the grapevine sector and sustainable practices for grapevine production.

Before my current position, I was as a  postdoc in Bordeaux School of Economics and obtained my PhD at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), in 2022,  from Uppsala. I have been a visiting student researcher at Berkeley University in 2020. I hold a MRe in Economics from Paris School of Economics and a MSc in Global Political Economy from Stockholm University.
